Best Group Travel Destinations in 2026

A well-organized group trip is an extraordinary experience. A poorly organized one is a headache nobody wants to repeat. The difference lies entirely in who designs it.

At Vilu, we have spent more than 8 years designing group travel — from 10 people to over 1,000. We handle absolutely everything: airlines, hotels, experiences, dinners, events, tours, and transfers. When we say everything, we mean it.

For us, a formal group begins at 10 people. Fewer than that is a family trip, not a group. And a family of any size is treated as a family trip — we never categorize it as a group.

The best destinations for group travel

1. Mexico

The most versatile destination for groups traveling from the Americas. The Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico City — each region offers something distinct. Exceptional hotel infrastructure for large groups, direct flights from every major city, and logistics we know inside and out. For corporate groups, destination weddings, or extended family reunions, Mexico is remarkably hard to beat.

2. United States

The premier choice for corporate incentives and business events. Miami, Las Vegas, New York, California. World-class infrastructure for events, team building, and one-of-a-kind experiences. Frequent direct flights make it effortlessly accessible.

3. Canada

Vancouver, Toronto, the Canadian Rockies. Spectacular natural scenery paired with first-world infrastructure. An ideal choice for groups seeking a blend of vibrant city culture, breathtaking nature, and outdoor pursuits.

4. Guatemala

Antigua's colonial architecture, Tikal's jungle-shrouded Maya ruins, and the volcanic splendor of Lake Atitlán. A deeply immersive cultural experience just a short flight from Mexico — perfect for groups craving something genuinely different without venturing too far.

5. Costa Rica

Adventure and nature in perfect harmony. Volcanoes, tropical rainforest, beaches on two oceans, zip-lining, white-water rafting, natural hot springs. An ideal setting for groups seeking team building through outdoor activities with a meaningful sustainability focus.

6. Peru

Machu Picchu, Lima's vibrant culinary scene with restaurants ranked among the world's finest, and the Sacred Valley with its collection of luxury boutique hotels. For groups drawn to culture, history, and world-class gastronomy. Careful logistical planning is essential given the altitudes and distances involved.

7. South Africa

Safari, Cape Town, and the vineyards of Stellenbosch. A destination that leaves every group in awe — the fusion of extraordinary wildlife, a cosmopolitan city, and world-class wines is truly unmatched. It performs exceptionally well for high-end corporate incentive programs.

8. Turkey

Istanbul where Europe meets Asia, Cappadocia with its hot-air balloons and cave hotels, the Aegean coast with pristine beaches and ancient ruins. History, gastronomy, and dramatic landscapes that captivate every group fortunate enough to experience them.

9. Spain

Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Ibiza, Mallorca. Exceptional cuisine, rich culture, football, vibrant nightlife, and a tourism infrastructure second to none. Spain works beautifully for every type of group — corporate, friends, extended families, destination weddings.

10. Punta Cana

The Caribbean classic for group travel. All-inclusive resorts with outstanding infrastructure for destination weddings, meetings, and events. Spectacular beaches, direct flights, and highly competitive pricing for large groups. It works especially well when participants have varying budgets — there are excellent options at every level.

11. Cruise

The option where everything is resolved by design. Multiple destinations without ever changing hotels, along with dining, entertainment, and logistics simplified to perfection. For large groups, a cruise eliminates the complexity of coordinating hotels, restaurants, and transportation at every port of call. We have access to exclusive promotions with the leading luxury cruise lines.

Luxury group travel experience

What sets Vilu apart in group travel?

We handle absolutely everything. We don't hand you a PDF of options and leave the coordination to you. We manage every detail:

Flights. We negotiate group fares with airlines, coordinate schedules, and manage last-minute changes with ease.

Hotels. We reserve room blocks at preferential rates and coordinate group amenities, room lists, and special requirements.

Experiences and activities. We design experiences calibrated to the size of your group — organizing a dinner for 15 is an entirely different challenge than orchestrating one for 200.

Dinners and events. We book out entire restaurants, arrange private dinners, curate custom menus, and manage all dietary restrictions with precision.

Transfers. We coordinate ground transportation for the entire group — coaches, vans, private cars — with exacting logistics so no one is ever left waiting.

Special events. From team building to gala evenings, from corporate meetings to destination weddings, we coordinate every last element.

For groups of more than 50 people, we assign a dedicated coordinator who travels with the group and handles any situation that arises in real time.

How far in advance should you plan a group trip?

Groups of 10–30 people: a minimum of 4–6 months in advance.

Groups of 30–100 people: a minimum of 6–8 months in advance.

Groups of 100+ people: 8–12 months in advance. Securing room blocks, group airfares, and event venues requires considerable lead time.

"Five countries sounds impossible to coordinate. Vilu made it look effortless."

Frequently asked questions about group travel

How many people does it take to qualify as a group?

Ten people or more. Fewer than 10 is a family trip, not a group. We handle families of any size as a family journey, regardless of the headcount.

Can participants have different budgets?

Absolutely. We design accommodation options at different price points within the same group — some guests in suites, others in standard rooms — all within the same property or in nearby hotels, so the group stays together without budget ever becoming a barrier.

How far ahead do I need to start planning?

A minimum of 4–6 months for smaller groups. Groups of 50 or more require 6–12 months of lead time. The larger the group and the more specific the destination, the more runway you need.
